Chelsea v Everton:Kai Havertz impresses in crucial win for the Blues

 Good evening everyone

I hope you are well and having a good start to the week. Sorry for the radio silence. It has been a busy couple of weeks, but I'm back now.

After winning at Anfield against Liverpool on Thursday night, Chelsea earned a much needed win against Merseyside team Everton on Monday night. The victory puts the Blues in touching distance of Leicester City (3 points) and Manchester United (4 points). So thats 9 games unbeaten in the league for Thomas Tuchel, who has definitely turned things around at Stamford Bridge since his arrival in January.

One  of the positive elements on Monday night was the performance of Kai Havertz. The big money signing from Bayer Leverkusen has flattered to deceive this season but the arrival of the German tactician has definitely improved his performances. Despite not scoring (well his goal was awarded as a Ben Godfrey own goal), he played really well as a false 9 along with fellow countryman Werner, who could have scored a hat trick. So is this a tactic that Tuchel will stick to? We'll have to wait and see in the coming weeks.

Another positive point is the solid defence that is yet to concede a goal at Stamford Bridge under the gaffer. Looks like 3 at the back is the way to go with Azpilicueta, Christensen (who has improved immensely) and Zouma or Rudiger playing really well recently. With Thiago Silva returning on the bench yesterday, Tuchel is spoilt for choice with games against Leeds United and Atletico Madrid to come followed by Sheffield United, he will definitely have to rotate the defence in the coming months.

The midfield duo of Jorginho-Kovacic has looked solid as well. Despite the criticism they've received this year they have improved under Tuchel and even Kanté isnt assured a spot in the starting 11. Of course thats no fault of his own as he has been struggling with injuries but has looked solid when called upon. Take the game against Liverpool for example. The gaffer wants to reduce his workload as he has played a lot of matches since the 2018 World Cup.

Next up is Leeds United at Elland Road on Saturday lunch time and this wont be a walk in the park. They play impressive football and will attack you from the first minute to the last. They're one of the most entertaining sides to watch in the EPL. Marcelo Bielsa has definitely won over the fans with his style of football so this will be a long 90 minutes for Tuchel's men but I expect them to leave with the " points and continue their push for Champions League football next year.

So what are your score predictions for Saturday? As usual feel free to communicate with me on social media.
